Please utilize our online performer application if you are interested in being considered for our line-up.  Your online application should include a link to a video of your audition or a previously recorded performance.  Completed applications are put before the entertainment committee for review.  The entertainment committee meets year-round.  You are encouraged to apply early in the year.  If you have any questions completing the application, please contact us.

Battle of the Buskers

We are encouraging local talent to participate in First Night Winchester 2019 – Battle of the Buskers!  As we transform Historic Downtown into a stage; registered performers can compete for a chance to win cash.

Busking creates a diversified atmosphere by featuring: musicians, jugglers, magicians, and dancers to name a few.  Registered buskers will be judged by social media audience participation, awarding a CASH prize to the three most popular performers.  REGISTRATION is required to be considered for the cash award.  Please complete our Busker Application.


Would you like to be one of the planners and organizers of this great community event? We could use your time and talent to continue to help make this such a successful event.

Volunteers are needed throughout the year to serve on the board or planning committees. Some committees include: Community Development, Finance, Fundraising, Marketing and Program Development.

Volunteers are also needed the night of to help as: button sellers, button checkers and greeters, and site managers. We also need help to set up and take down the signs and banners, set up and take down tables and chairs, and a number of other duties. Additional volunteers are also needed to staff locations and the hospitality room.

Volunteers will receive one free admission button so you can attend the events when your shift is over or before your shift starts. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete our Volunteer Application.

We need volunteers, like you, to help support this wonderful family-oriented, non-alcoholic New Year’s Eve event!


How do we continue our success? First Night Winchester is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations from individuals, businesses and foundations help First Night Winchester to present this community-wide, family-focused, non-alcoholic celebration of the visual and performing arts.

Donations greatly offset our expenses and keep our admission fee low. Great weather is always a key element to our button sales, even more important is the support of people like you. The continued success of First Night Winchester will require the efforts of more than a few dedicated volunteers and businesses supported by a dynamic board of directors. To remain a true community event, support must expand to meet the demand.

As we enter our 32nd year, we are especially proud to have earned your past support and hope you will again support us this year.
