Robbie Limon

Robbie Limon BandRobbie Limon of Middletown, VA is an award-winning entertainer who mixes solo and band appearances with acting/singing roles at professional theaters. Robbie has been on the bandstand for twenty years and brings his love of `70s-era songwriters to each performance. The result is an eclectic mix of the Eagles, John Denver, Gordon Lightfoot, Credence Clearwater Revival, Roy Orbison, The Doobie Brothers, Jim Croce, Willie Nelson, and several others. Listeners report that the song arrangements and voice characterizations are exactly what is recalled from the original recordings. Robbie’s ability to copy the tonal qualities and phrasings of other vocalists led to his role as Hank Williams, Sr. in 40 performances at the Wayside Theater near Winchester, VA. The 2005 Chiquita Award was given by M. Lawrence of The American Theater Critics Association for Robbie’s portrayal of Country Music’s first superstar. In 2007, Robbie returned to The Wayside Theater in the title role of ‘Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story’. His recreation of the physical appearance and performance style of this innovative songwriter of the late 1950s broke all attendance records in the Theater’s history. Each of 43 performances received very enthusiastic standing ovations.
